The Human Race
There are so many things that people think are so digusting about the human race. There are so many things we could be doing better.
But if you look past all of that- look at what we can accomplish! We have the proper tools to create life. (WHY Mastermind, are you talking about this? You might ask.. well- I have a little rant from Biology class today...)
Recently in Biology we have been studying reproduction. "EW! GROSS!" Actually, not really. Our bodies are AMAZING! Today we watched a video specifically about pregnancy. It was fascinating. We got to see real images of inside the uterus and footage of inside a fallopian tube- along with an actual birth. It was really cool. I was amazed by the bravery that the lady in the video had to let NOVA film her pregnancy progression and the actual birth of her baby. It's a big step and as it was she was pregnant- which makes your hormones crazy, and labor is painful enough to have to deal with.. and then you add in having a videographer film you during contractions and everything else that goes on at the hospital. I admire her.
But sadly some people were not mature enough, RESPECTFUL enough, or quiet enough to just watch the video, fill out the worksheet to go with it, and LEARN. I seriously got a lot out of today's video and if they had been respectful and quiet I could have gotten EVEN more out of it.
Did you know that when a baby is born it's head is a dark blue-ish/gray color? Once the baby starts to breath and get oxygen- the head goes to a healthy peachy color. It is one of the most fascinating things ever. The whole process of pregnancy and labor just amazes me- and to think that some people don't appreciate and/or mis-use our pro-creative abilities makes me really sad.
RESPECT your bodies, people- they are amazing!
It's not gross, it's science, it's amazing.
Just LOOK around you! Everyone you know has been created by the power of a man and a women. That's no small feat. (...If you think it is- try telling that to your mothers or a mom... they will definitely tell you differently!)
So, there's my little rant. It may be small- but it's priceless.
