More About California

Okay- so, on Tuesday we went to San Francisco. Which was AWESOME! :) The boys were at school- so this was a good opportunity to go without having tired boys later that day. ;)
The Ghiradelli hot chocolate made my eyes roll back in my head- it was SOOO good! :)
We also peeked inside of a wax museum, went to China town (which smelled of dead and dried fish and had creepy things in the stores...)
We couldn't go to Alcatraz on this trip though- because the tickets sold out. :P So-- we are going to go another time. When it's not raining....
We did so many fun things I can't even name them all.
The Exploratorium was AMAZING! If you ever go to San Francisco-- it is a MUST SEE!!! :) (But give yourself at approx. 2 1/2 hours. It's big and captivating. :) )
We ended being tired... so we went across the Golden Gate Bridge. (by car- we were going to walk, but our legs were just too tired.) It was so cool! We had a good view of Alcatraz-- and there was not fog to block any view-- so we could see the WHOLE bridge from one spot! (Usually there is always too much fog- and you can't see it all.)

Then we drove home and got Cold Stone on the way. YUMMM.

Wednesday we went to Costco to get food, and then BestBuy to get a new phone for my mom, and get phones for Kelsey AND BRONWEN!! (not me-- I'm too young. ;) )

Then we went to Joe's baseball game. Well... I did. Activating the phones took so long that My fam. missed it-- but Joe's team won; 10 to 1!!! :)

Then we went to my Grandma's and got to work on dumping my her peach rum down the sink. Yes- she is LDS. No- this was not real rum. I think...

My dear grandma Webb has been canning peaches a other jams and fruits all her life.. Well- most of her life. She would store them in her temperature fluctuating garage- and we would eat some of them now and then... But time went by and 1989 became 2011. Guess what happened? Pretty much ALL of the stuff she had canned had gone bad.
So we had to twist all the sugar hardened rings off, and pop the old dust lids off- and dump the horrid stuff down the sink. And yes- 89 was the oldest DATED jar we saw. There was one without a date that looked worse. It looked... Like a.... Black Brain!! It was SOOO nasty!! When we tried to pop the lid off- it collapsed. YUCK!!
I swear we did 250 jars that day/night. My grandma was, of course, helping. and she tried to save a few. Some of them were safe to save- but others were sent back in by my mom from the garage. (to be DUMPED.)
My Grandma- dear grandma- even TASTED one of the OLD jams. YUCK-YUCK-YUCKEDEE-YUCK-YUCK!!!!!

We went home really tired.

Thursday we went and saw Joe's dance at his school. His group did the Hustle! :)

Then we did about 50 more jars.

After that we went home and relaxed a bit. Once the boys were out of school- we jumped into our swim suits and grabbed the beach equipment-- then we headed for the beach! :)

We all had wet suits, so it wasn't too cold. We boogie-boarded until we couldn't boogie-board no more. ;) (P.S. There was SOO much seaweed- you couldn't see anything in the water- it looked brown!! (It was a reddish-brown seaweed...))

Friday we had the boys skip school-- (SO bad!! Just kidding. ;) ) and we went to the San Juan Batista (Spelling???) Misson.

Then we bought rock candy in a rock shop by the misson. :)

We then drove to meet up with my aunt, her fiance, her fiance's son, and her boys at the beach. My mom's friend Peeley and her kid's also came. (Isn't Peeley such a cool name!?!?)

We once again had wet suits and boogie-board, but there were no waves. But we were still grateful for the boogie-boards and the wet suits. (The water was really cold, and it was fun to just float on the boogie boards on the calm, shallow, ocean water. :) )

Then we went home and packed.

Saturday we left. :( It was sad to leave, but we all knew that we needed to. We all had priorities here in Utah to get to. So we left.

But we'll go back another time!! ;) :)

That's all for now!!
